This Ford towing calculator checks a trailer against the rating Ford publishes for your exact configuration, for every 2025 and 2026 Ford truck and SUV from Maverick to F-450. Pick the model and configuration, add payload and GVWR from your door labels, and it checks towing, payload, GVWR and GCWR. No sign-in or VIN needed.
Ford's towing guide gives the towing rating and GCWR for each configuration but no payload or GVWR, so type those two from the labels on your driver's door opening. With them the calculator also checks payload, the loaded truck and the whole combination. Ford rates the 2026 lineup from 2,000 lb to 30,000 lb on a conventional hitch. The F-150 alone runs from 7,400 to 13,500 lb, so the configuration matters more than the nameplate.

Ford's towing calculator: what it covers
Ford has its own calculator. Its support page says it works only for 2020 model year and newer F-Series pickups, and you either sign in to your Ford account or enter your VIN. After you add occupants, cargo and accessories, it returns a maximum loaded trailer weight and maximum tongue load for conventional, gooseneck or fifth-wheel towing.
For a 2020 or newer F-Series, Ford's tool works from your own truck, identified by your Ford account or VIN, so use it to confirm. This page covers what it does not: Maverick, Ranger, Bronco, Explorer and Expedition, and any Ford when you are still choosing a truck and have no VIN. It also shows every configuration side by side.

How much can a Ford F-150 tow?
The 2026 F-150 is rated from 7,400 to 13,500 lb depending on engine, cab, wheelbase, axle and package. The 13,500 lb maximum requires the 3.5L GTDI V6, SuperCrew 4x4 with the 157.2 in wheelbase, 3.55 axle, Tow/Haul Package (53T) and the optional Max Tow Axle (GCWR 19,400 lb).
How much can a Ford F250 tow?
Up to 22,000 lb on a conventional hitch for 2026, from 13,800 lb in its lowest-rated configuration. On a fifth-wheel or gooseneck hitch Ford rates it up to 23,000 lb.
How much can a Ford F350 tow?
Up to 28,000 lb on a conventional hitch for 2026, and up to 38,000 lb on a fifth-wheel or gooseneck hitch. The highest ratings need the 6.7L V8 High Output Turbo Diesel.
What is the towing capacity of a Ford Maverick?
The 4,000 lb rating requires the 4K Tow Package (53Q) on an AWD Maverick with either engine; Ford lists that package as required for trailers over 2,000 lb, and every other configuration is rated at 2,000 lb.
What is the towing capacity of a Ford Ranger?
The 7,500 lb maximum requires the Trailer Tow Package (53R) and applies to the 2.3L EcoBoost I4 (4x2 or 4x4) and the 2.7L EcoBoost V6 4x4, all SuperCrew with the 3.73 axle; Raptor with the 3.0L EcoBoost V6 is rated 5,510 lb.
